Grafting the lip

hizKNITS

An update on my whereabouts and the past week’s activities will have to wait a few more days. While I had planned on writing an account of recent adventures, I hadn’t planned on spending 4+ hours in the emergency room tonight.

What we have here is an example of the dangers of synchronized swimming. My front tooth punctured my lower lip (entering and exiting) against the shin of a teammate. So far, the highlight of my 34th year…

Too bad about your lip. I hope it doesn’t hurt too much.
I just discovered your blog from the Yarn Harlot. I’ve only made one sock ever and am not happy with the toe. Much learning to do. Anyway, do you know a good source for self-patterning sock yarn? I saw a sock that looked like intarsia but it was really just the yarn. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to ask at the time where the knitter got it. Suggestions?

Damn it that looks like it hurts. Although I’ll admit to doing that to someone while playing water polo. (hey, she was in my way).

And what – meeting ME wasn’t the highlight of your 34th year?!?!?

  12. Lisa K. Says:

I am so amazed that this injury did not occur at camp – trying to teach us clowns a smidge of syncronized swimming in that wee little pool seemed sure to result in a trip to the ER for someone.

  13. Laurie Says:

Oh Stephen! OUCH! I know I feel rattled after coming down from the sock yarn high but darlin’, take care! I’m so sorry about your lip! You should knit some kind of interpretive piece about your experience.

As Missy Von Perlmutter would say, “Go straight to the plastic surgeon. You don’t want to lose your looks at this stage of the game.”

  14. stariel Says:
