I saw your bag on Ravelry and followed the links through to here. I’m not a knitter, but a crocheter and am mulling over the design details for translation to crochet. Anyhow… I really basic question. I don’t see a note anywhere about removing the stem from the bike tube but it seems to me that would be more comfortable. (I guess you can tell I’ve had scratches from inner tube stems in the past.)

After that I just picked up stitches and knit the sides and came up the frot from the bottom picking up a row at a time.
