If your friend owns this company, then it is more than likely that he has to buy the yarn that’s used in the sweaters. That’s what David has to do for the yarns used in his line. Assuming this is the case and assuming he’s a good friend, you may be able to wheedle, beg, and plead with him and see about landing yourself a whole cone of the stuff. It may not be doable logistically, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

In fact there is a woman who buys cashmere sweaters and respins the ripped out yarn into a more suitable gauge for handknitting, making beautiful, beautiful yarns. I looked on line but couldn’t find the source. So, I say go for it.
